This 8 days Vietnam trip delivers the essential Vietnamese destinations for budget-conscious travelers or those who have limited amount of time. All of the historical, cultural and natural "must-see" attractions are visited, including an overnight train journey, as the tour makes its way from north to south. This is an ideal trip to take in the very essence of Vietnam and can easily be taken in conjunction with an extended holiday or seaside vacation along the beach coast of south central Vietnam.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1:   Hanoi Arrival (D)
Upon arrival in Hanoi, Dream Travel’s guide welcome you at the airport then escort to your hotel in Hanoi. Welcome dinner at the restaurant. Overnight at proposed hotel.

Day 2:   Halong Bay 1 day tour (B/L)
7.45 - 8.15: Our car and guide will pick you up at your hotel (Hanoi Old Quarter) or our office (26 Lo Su - Hoan Kiem District - Hanoi), departure to Halong bay
10.00: Have a short break about 20 minuttes
12.00: Arrive at Bai Chay, Halong Tourism harbour.
12.15: Start cruising to visit Ha Long Bay - one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, UNESCO World Heritage Site and have lunch on the cruise.
14.30: Visit Thien Cung Grotto - one of the largest and most beautiful grottoes in Halong Bay. Its structure is complex with different levels and chambers, which contain richly ornamented stalactites and stalagmites formed millions of years ago. Visiting Thiencung Grotto, tourists can enjoy interesting stories about the shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites closely connected to the Halong Bay legend of King Dragon.
15.30: Enjoy kayaking around floating village, wonder daily life of fishing men on the bay.
16:30:  You will return to Halong tourist wharf and take the bus back to Hanoi.
Arive Hanoi around 20.00pm. We drop you off at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi

Day 3:  Hanoi Sightseeing tour - Overnight on Train to Hue (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Continue on to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem lake, Ngoc Son temple.
Relax until transfer to catch the train to Hue. Train SE1 (19.00 - 8.35). Overnight on train ( AC soft sleeper with A/C, 4pax/cabin)

Day 4:   Hue City tour & boat trip on Perfume river (B/L)
Early morning arrival in Hue, we will be met at the railway station for transfer to a restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast, visit the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City, created in the 19th century for the Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty. Then take a boat ride along the romantic Perfume River. Stop off at the Thien Mu Pagoda on the banks of the river to see the 7-storey Stupa. The pagoda is also home to the old Austin car driven to Saigon by the Venerable Thich Quang Duc in 1963 for his self-immolation. Transfer to the hotel to check-in.
After lunch, take a short drive to the outskirts of Hue to visit the mausoleum of Emperor Minh Mang (1791-1841), built between 1841 and 1843. The Emperor’s mausoleum complex consists of 40 constructions (palaces, temples, pavilions etc) designed on a symmetrical axis. End the day with a visit to Dong Ba market in downtown Hue City. Overnight  at hotel in Hue.

Day 5:  Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An (B/L)
After breakfast, travel down the coast road passing over the spectacular Hai Van pass to Danang, and visit the Cham Museum and local market in Danang city. Then transfer to the ancient trading port town of Hoi An. On the way, visit the Non Nuoc stone mason’s village and Marble Mountain. On arrival in Hoi An, check-in at the hotel. This evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Day 6:  Hoi An - Da Nang - Saigon by fly (B/L)
In the morning, enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow streets of the ancient town, visiting the Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house, the Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful local market. In the afternoon, transfer back to Danang for the short flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). On arrival, you will be met at the airport for transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 7: Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L)
At 08.00am, pick you up at your hotel and we start the trip by visiting the War Remnants Museum. Tour of Chinatown to explore the Binh Tay (Cho Lon) market and Thien Hau pagoda in the morning
Having lunch at local restaurant.
At 13.00, proceed to Cu Chi tunnels. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation, etc. and were used as a military base for the Vietcong during the American war. After visiting the tunnels, you can try for shooting (on guest’s account) or enjoying cassava and drinking green tea .Both were as food used by Viet Cong during the War.
Return our office around 6.30pm.
End of your Full day tour visiting Cu Chi tunnels and Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 8:  Depart Saigon (B)
After breakfast, free until transfer to the airport for departure flights. End of trip.
