Like Pho, Bun (rice noodles) has long been a popular dish of the Vietnamese and is served everywhere and anywhere nationwide: at home, restaurants and even by street vendors. Familiar and popular to the masses, it is still considered a common breakfast, lunch or dinner but now it's found itself upgraded as one of Vietnam's familiar culinary trademarks. Aiming to introduce Bun into all areas of contemporary Vietnamese life, Pham Huy Can, General Manager of Bun Ta - together with two other friends - set up the Tam Son Company and launched Bun Ta Noodle Restaurant where "everything is Bun", located on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia St, Dist 1, right across from Reunification Palace.

Designed by Vietnamese-French woman Mathilde Tran Thanh Truc, Bun Ta has a refined "Tropical Chic" architecture, mixing natural white, green and brown hues, plus contemporary decor based on clean, spacious lines, surrounded by bamboo plants. Designs must be modern, stylish and for crockery - thick, to maintain the temperature; all corresponding with the concept of the restaurant. Everything must be authentic.

Skimming through the menu, it appears all the specialty dishes served with Bun from the north, central and south finally converge in one place: Bun Ta. Bun can be eaten wet and dry in over 50 dish varieties. With Bun soup, the diverse selection features spicy beef noodle soup, fish noodle soup, snail, seafood and roasted pork, etc. Dry Bun includes fried or grilled pork, beef, seafood and so on, served with noodles, fresh herbs and fish sauce. In addition, there are roll noodles and delicious dishes made from rice. All of the dishes are presented in a delightful Bun Ta style, with advice from Bun Ta's consultant MA Nguyen Thi Dieu Thao, author of many cook books in Vietnam. The nouvelle "Bun Ta" dish (VND38,000), created by the restaurant itself, featuring tri-colored, cool vermicelli: original white, green of the bo xoi cabbage and yellow from saffron, all covered with tomato sauce, with grilled chopped meats served with fish sauce. Yep, pretty delightful. The beef noodle soup (also VND22,000) really refresh your throat. The food is quite pricey considering the dished involved, but what you found really special about the restaurant is the ambience and feeling of enjoyment: enjoying an old Vietnamese dish amongst a new, contemporary and luxurious ambience, but still with a pinch of Vietnamese hospitality. It's also a great place to relax with family and friends.
