A new restaurant and bar named “Fresh” has recently opened in downtown HCMC at 25 Dong Du St, Dist 1.

With an extraordinary interior design of contrasting colors, flower arrangements, tables whose lower parts are sewing machines and tops are covered with different pieces of colorful silk, and fashion collections at various locations throughout restaurant, it reflects the fine taste of its owner, designer Le Phuong Thao.

Thao is a Vietnamese overseas who studied fashion design in Virginia in the U.S and returned to Vietnam fifteen years ago. She told that frequent guests like her “Ordinary” fashions including the traditional ao dai made of silk with Asian patterns such as lotus flowers, butterflies and dragonflies but custom made for Western guests’ measurements. They can see her blending of Western and Eastern styles in the restaurant’s design.

The dished served in the restaurant are also cooked in Fusion style with Asian and European flavors for guests to choose such as chili clam spaghetti, minestrone soup, grilled tuna and more. Appetizers include a special tasty kind of vegetable roll with ginger spice, and bruchetta. The desserts are either tiramisu or traditional Vietnamese flan cake among others. The dishes on the set menu are changed daily with prices from VND39,000 to VND89,000 per person.

Tourist interested in the Thao fashion collection and liking to find a bed and breakfast service can also pay a visit here as the five-story building where the restaurant is located serves as the boutique for her fashion brand “Ordinary” as well as being a boarding house with nine air-conditioned rooms. This May, guests will receive a 20% discount for dishes in Fresh restaurant and for Ordinary fashions.
