Yoshino Japanese Restaurant, on the second floor of the Legend Hotel Saigon, offers patrons the opportunity to dine in signature Japanese style in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

Whether for a business lunch, an evening meal or a romantic dinner, Yoshino, which can comfortably accommodate 100 customers, provides an atmosphere and an experience to remember. From the moment you walk through the door, you will know your experience is going to be special. Stylish decorated rooms and soft traditional Japanese music soothe the eye and the ear as you are guided to your seat. Japanese features including tatami mats, bamboo blinds and sakura flowers painted on the ceiling give a contemporary tone to this stunning venue.

The wait staff at Yoshino are polite and attentive and guests are offered a delicately scented towel and a glass of tea before ordering. The restaurant offers a full range of a la carte dishes and set menus, many of which are excellent value for money. For example, the lunch Tempura Set ($10), includes an appetizer, egg custard, salad, tempura prawns and vegetables, steamed rice, miso soup, pickles and dessert.

Yoshino has built a reputation with specialties such as its sushi kaiseki ($50), Kobe steak kaiseki ($60) and the traditional omakase set dinner ($45). Traditionally, ordering by saying "omasake" can be a gamble, with the phrase used in many Japanese restaurants to give the chef authority to prepare what they want to make. An order of "omakase" is believed to put more pressure on the chef to create a worthy meal out of the freshest foods he has to reward and retain a valued customer's trust in him.

At Yoshino, sushi lovers will find an eclectic menu offering a range of fresh and healthy authentic sushi set dishes such as yuki ($18), tsuki ($22) and hana ($22), along with a variety of maki sushi ($2-$15) and nigiri sushi ($2-$10).

The ambience is wonderful, the staff are attentive, and the food is excellent, making this the best Japanese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, and an essential experience for lovers of Japanese food and culture.

Yoshino Restaurant opens for lunch from 11.30am to 2pm and dinner from 5.30pm to 9pm daily.
