Park Hyatt Saigon is delighted to introduce Megan Burtt from Colorado, USA, who will provide live entertainment in the Park Lounge every evening from 16 October 2008 to 12 January 2009.
Raised on the piano, violin and guitar, this talented singer-songwriter experiments with different sounds, instruments and styles to create unique audio artwork. Following the 2006 success of her first EP, Portrait, Megan began learning to play the harmonica and travelled to Mississippi to play delta blues with the people who know it best. Seamlessly mixing elements of folk, blues and rock, Megan’s shows include meaningful lyrics and impressive instrumentation.
While earning her degree in Professional Music and Songwriting from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Megan formed her band, The Cure for Love, selecting some of the most talented young musicians in the country. Megan won Colorado’s state-wide Colgate Country Music Competition when she was just 16 years old. She was also a finalist in the 2007 Berklee Songwriters’ Showcase and received an honourable mention at the 2006 New York Songwriters’ Circle Competition.
Megan’s music is influenced by Bonnie Raitt, an American blues singer-songwriter who was born in Burbank, California. Megan is best known for her songs “Best Way To Go”, “Worth The Sting” and “I Found Out”. Growing up in Colorado, and having travelled through South America, Africa, South Asia, South East Asia and Asia has given Megan a great life experience and appreciation of life.
Megan is currently planning a national tour and is set to release her second CD in early 2009. She has been featured on both The Colorado Sound KRFC radio in Fort Collins and KSMT in Summit County. So, treat yourself to the colours and sounds of this talented performer in the cosy, relaxing atmosphere of Park Lounge.
